Welcome to the sixth episode of ‘Felda Friday’, Dundalk Sport’s video interview series with local sports stars who train and use the facilities at Dundalk’s number one gym, Felda Health Fitness and Spa.
This week, I sat down with Declan Loy, the man behind the recent ‘Irondad Challenge’ an All-Ireland triathlon event aimed at promoting the awareness of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing for teenagers and families around the country.
The ‘Irondad Challenge’ saw Declan complete a 1km swim, a 100km cycle and a 10km run over 32 consecutive days — in 32 different counties! That followed on from Declan’s feat in 2018 where he broke the Guinness World Record for the most 70.3 distance triathlons within 12 months!
You can listen to Declan’s story above. It will premiere on the Dundalk Sport YouTube page at 10am on Friday, August 30th.
