U12 | Top three all slip up in U12 Premier

Rock Celtic and Ardee Celtic draw while Quay are beaten

The Dundalk Schoolboys League U12 Premier Division table

The battle for the Dundalk Schoolboys League U12 Premier Division title took a few twists and turns on Tuesday night with the top three teams all surprisingly dropping points.

Glenmuir Celtic — who lie in seventh place — turned in a blistering second half display against league leaders Rock Celtic in Blackrock.

It looked very comfortable for the hosts who led 3–1 at half-time thanks to goals from Sean McKeever, Eoin McDonald and Ben Cahill. Aniss Hinuer replied for Glenmuir.

However, it finished 3–3 as goals from Emmanuel Ojo and a Patrick Curley effort saw the Blues leave with a point in the shock result of the night.

Second placed Quay Celtic failed to take advantage as they crashed to their third defeat of the season, losing 3–1 to Glenmuir United at Glenmuir Park.

Steven Okecke opened the scoring for Glenmuir in the 14th minute but Luke O’Connell equalised for Quay four minutes later. Second half goals from Ryan McEneaney and Daniel Brogan earned Glenmuir the surprise win.

Meanwhile, third placed Ardee Celtic travelled to Shamrocks who took a first half through leading scorer DD Reilly but Tom Kelly equalised midway through the second half for the Deesiders. Ardee pushed for a winner but Shamrocks held on and the game finished at 1–1.

The results leave Rock in the driving seat with four games to play but Quay Celtic and Ardee Celtic will push them all the way.
