RACING | Dundalk Stadium Preview
The unbeaten Ambassadorial puts his record on the line in the Patton Stakes at Dundalk Stadium on Wednesday night.
Sponsored by the Avenue Inn, Dundalk, the seven-furlong contest carries Listed status.
Trained by Mick Halford, and set to be ridden by the in-form Shane Foley, Ambassadorial’s two wins to date have come over course and distance. He took a Maiden in September, and followed up the next month in the Listed Star Appeal Stakes.
The Godolphin-owned colt is a 40/1 chance for the 2,000 Guineas. A six-runner Patton field is completed by Hit The Bid, Holistic Approach, Noivado, and the Aidan O’Brien pair of Intelligence Cross and War Secretary.
The first of eight races get underway this evening at 5.25pm.
Point-to-point Racing
Last Sunday another big crowd turned out at Bellurgan Park for the Louth Hunt point-to-point.
The attendance enjoyed six races over the one-mile circuit, around which Harley Dunne earned the plaudits by riding a double aboard Princess Roxy and Devito’sgoldengirl.
