LADIES GAA | Louth have to settle for the Qualifiers as Offaly pull off a shock win

Louth Ladies’ hopes of a place in the the semi-finals of the TG4 Leinster Ladies Intermediate Football Championship were ended on Sunday afternoon as Offaly pulled of a shock 1–11 to 1–10 win over Longford in the final group two fixture in Tullamore.
The Wee County opened their campaign with a stunning 5–9 to 4–10 win over Offaly but fell to an eight-point loss against group favourites Longford three nights later.
Despite that defeat, Louth remained optimistic of progress to the semi-finals but those hopes were dashed as Offaly registered a surprise win against Longford — the group favourites — at O’Connor Park.
All three counties finished level on two points with Longford topping the group on score difference. Offaly will join the midlanders in the semi-final while Louth must make do with a place in the Qualifiers.
