GREYHOUNDS | Two winners for Kelly’s Clogherhead kennel at Dundalk Stadium
With six runners, Michael Kelly was a busy trainer at Dundalk Stadium on Friday and he finished up celebrating a double.
His Clogherhead kennel struck first with Berretta Ocean, a five-and-a-half length winner over Knight Jazz in 29.32.
Then, Milldean Gem, which Michael handles for the M&H Racing Syndicate, turned in a fine performance to clock a fast 21.41.
Earlier on the card, Lynnway Risky improved to record 21.76 for Dundalk’s Gerry Lee. He easily accounted for Shelone Mill by four lengths.
On Saturday, Absolute Red returned to winning ways for Togher’s Michael Doyle and Cathrine Johannsson from Sweden.
He finished with a flourish to see off Shauneens Pet by three-quarters of a length in 22.31.
Laurence Jones, who sent out Jennys Boy to collect 24 hours earlier, combined with his Blackrock-based brother, Brian, to win the third contest.
Here, Fiddle Faddle made all the running to trounce dead-heaters Brave Warrior and Randles Messiah by eight lengths in 21.79.
Monleek Express, recently victorious in the Ever Kleen Contract Cleaners A3, took a step-up in grade in her stride.
Representing Rita and John Downey, Tullyallen, she came from behind to prevail by a length in 29.74.
