GREYHOUNDS | Racing at Dundalk Stadium on Good Friday

Greyhound racing takes places in Dundalk for the first time on Good Friday, when full bar and catering facilities are available.

A 12-race card gets underway at 7.50pm, and the feature is the Ever Kleen Contract Cleaners A3 525 final.

There is a good chance the €2,150 first prize will stay in the ‘Wee County’, as the home team comprises half the field.

Monleek Express goes for Rita and John Downey, Tullyallen; and Hangover Cure represents Amy Rose O’Connor and Chris Doyle, Dundalk. The trio is completed by Deanmill Katy, trained in Clogherhead by Michael Kelly.

Navan dog Kilrues Rogers is on a four-timer, and aiming to go through the stake unbeaten.

Final trap draw: 1 Slippery Cinders, 2 Monleek Express, 3 Kilrues Roger, 4 Deanmill Katy, 5 Hangover Cure, 6 Bakery Lane.

The first of 11 races on Saturday has a 7.50pm start time.

Most of the leading contenders go in the first semi-final of the Paddy & Eamon Carroll Memorial A1 620.

Fastest first round winner Santro Rico again faces Its Rockin Jim, Highview Dude and a real eye-catcher from last time in Jaytee Angel.

Throw in strong finisher Flying Flyer and Thats Grand, and it’s clear this eliminator is going to take some winning.

The second semi includes the other winners from last week, Jaytee Samurai, from the same Paul Hennessy kennel as Jaytee Angel and Its Rockin Jim; and Swift Lark.
