Greenore Ladies
The return leg of the Mary McKenna Diamond Trophy ended in a six and a half to three and a half defeat for Greenore. Team captain Nora Gormley would like to thank all of her panel who took part.
The winner of the PGA Tankard staged on Saturday last was Seana McGuinness with a great score of 39 points. Hot on her heels came runner-up Katie Mallon on 38. Well done to Seana who has trimmed her handicap down to 11.

Results of the Open Singles competition, held on June 6th — 1st: Alan Cooper; 2nd: Rory O’Neill.
Cloverhill Golf Club
There was no stopping Peter Byrne (21) as he buried the opposition in the June 3rd category competition. Peter, returning to the form of old, was in sparkling form with 22 points over each nine for an overall winning total of 44 points.
The Category One winner with 40 points was Pearse Murphy (10) who touched off the trio of Shane O’Neill (12), David Hamill (11) and Paul Owens (12) by a point.
Category Two winner was the very consistent performer Fintan McAleenan (17) who despite getting cut is producing the score with 39 getting him home this time from Chris McCaul (18).
Category Three produced a first time winner in new member James Maguire (28) with 39 points, two ahead of Raymond McCumiskey (21) and Chris Devine (21) with Rolan McGarry next on 36. Next week’s competition is the Murphy’s Meigh sponsored June
Friday Open
Last week’s Friday Open saw the visitors dominate proceedings with home player Pearse Murphy interrupting their top eight places domination.
The winner with 43 points and setting the early pace for the Monthly Bonus Visitors Prize of €100 is Noel Brady (22) from Mannan Castle. Runner-up with 40 points was Pearse Murphy (11) with Mickey Rushe (11) of Ashfield third fending of Greenore’s Michael Concannon (13) on the count back with 39 points.
Wednesday Cup
At a time when Tipperary are making headlines for all the wrong reasons, John Kelly stormed to victory in the back nine green markers Wednesday Cup to relieve the pressure on his fellow county-men. John saw off Raymond Quinn, Seamus Keenan and Rolan McGarry who all had 23 points.
Bank Holiday Open
Jamie Duffy (6) found time off from his studies to relieve the pressure in the perfect way as he shot 46 points to win the Green Tee Open on Monday. Colin Pilkington (2) was second with 42 points. Club treasurer Emmett Fearon (14) beat Noel McParland (22) on the countback for third place.
