GOLF | Fantastic score of 70 secures Maria the Professional’s Prize at Dundalk Ladies

An 18 Hole Stroke GOY/Medal competition, sponsored by club professional Leslie Walker was held at Dundalk Ladies recently and the competition did not disappoint with the winners returning some superb scores.

Mia Quinn is still playing beautiful gold, recording a 72 nett playing off six while Mary Dooley played very steady round of golf and was absolutely delighted to win Class B with a fantastic score of 71 nett.

Mary Burlingham also played super golf, losing shots and winning Class C with another great score of 71 nett while the overall winner was Maria Kerr with a fantastic score of 70 nett.

Maria received rapturous applause and spoke about her delight at winning. She said it was one of those days where she did everything right and the ball went into the hole. Well done Maria and all the winners!

At the presentation evening, Lady Captain Maeve thanked Leslie for his very generous sponsorship and all his hard work supporting the ladies and offering some excellent coaching.

Leslie spoke about how delighted he was to work in Dundalk Golf Club as the professional and will continue to support the ladies in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, there was an 18 Hole Stableford on June 17th and 20th, sponsored by one of the club’s new sponsors, Ovelle.

The ladies section would like to thank Joanna Gardiner and Sinead McMahon from Ovelle for their very generous sponsorship.

The scoring on the first day did not disappoint with Siobhan Rogers recording a fantastic 38 points to win Class B and Leone Ballie shooting a superb 40 points to win Class C.

Siobhan and Leone are playing great golf this season and we hope this form will continue. Congratulations to all the winners.
