GOLF | Dundalk Ladies raise over €7,000 for RNLI with Four Lady Team Event

The proceeds from the Open Four Lady Team Event played on July 15th and 18th July went to Lady Captain Maeve Ahern’s nominated charity, the RNLI.

This tournament was a huge success. A total of 46 teams took part with the winning team recording a fantastic score of 89 points.

At the presentation evening there were many representatives from the RNLI in attendance. One of those, Noel Phillips, spoke about the work they do and the new lifeboat they are in the process of purchasing.

This new boat will be capable of working in shallow waters. It costs €2million and Noel said he was delighted with the money raised by the Dundalk ladies.

Lady Captain Maeve remembered the crew of the R116 and welcomed all the representatives and especially welcomed Hermione Duffy. An art auction followed the presentation with lots of local artists donating their art work. In total there was over €7,000 raised for the RNLI.

Visiting teams: Rossmore, Castlebar, Greenore, Mullingar, Rosses Point, Lourdes, The Castle, Milltown, Castleknock, Headfort, Kilkeel and St Annes. A total of 46 teams played.
