GOLF | Brendan takes President’s Prize at Peadar’s Golf Society
Plans afoot for 25th anniversary event
Mannan Castle was the venue last Saturday for the staging of Peadar’s Golf Society’s President’s Prize.
On a hot breezy day, with baked fairways and tough greens, one man mastered the conditions and emerged victorious. Founding member Brendan Kelly won by three clear shots, beating Pat Gray into second place with society captain Michael McKeown in third.
Following an excellent meal in the clubhouse, the members headed back into ‘The Big House’ on Anne Street where President Pat Morrissey was in attendance to present the coveted prizes. An enjoyable night was had by all.
The next outing is the ever popular Captain’s Day Out which is an overnight in Trim on June 17th together with golf in the magnificent Knightsbrook Golf Club. Deposits are currently being taken by any committee member.

The golf will be followed by a three-course meal in the clubhouse and there will be music and presentation of prizes in ‘The Big House’, Anne Street on the night.
The organising committee is Seamus Bailey, Pat Gray, Brian McEneaney, Michael McKeown and Patsy Duffy. More details will follow nearer the event.
