U16 Division 2A League Semi-Final | Roche 2–11 St Patricks 1–6

On a dreadful night for football last Wednesday, Roche Emmets and St Patrick’s served up an entertaining game at Pairc de Roiste with the reward of a place in the U16 Division 2A League final up for grabs.

The first half was a very evenly contested game with both defences on top and the visitors led by 0–5 points to 0–4 at half-time.

In the second half, it was the hosts who took a real grip of the game with their overall team play a joy to watch.

Some fine point taking turned the half time deficit into a lead early in the second half, an advantage that Roche were never to lose.

The Faughart outfit added 2–7 which included two very well taken goals by Glen Stewart and Adam Fee and kept the Pats to 1–1 with their goal coming in injury time.

ROCHE EMMETS: J Martin, D Callan, S Dawe, L O’Donnell, P Lynch, J McDonnell, A Grant, G Stewart (1–7), A McKay (0–1), J McArdle (0–1), G Browne, F Watters (0–1), S Carthy, A Fee (1–1), M McCourt. Subs: M Byrne for S Carthy, K Carroll for M McCourt, D Keenan for D Callan, M Green, A Ralph, D Reilly, B Kelly and J McKay.
