Naomh Moninne
Juvenile training resumes outdoor at the Fairgreen on Saturday, May 6th from 2pm to 3pm with the usual €2 contribution still applying.
An understrength U14 team suffered a defeat to St Kevin’s/Mattock/Glen Emmets in the Feile competition at the Fairgreen last Tuesday night, April 18th. The Moninne team was Conor Whyte, Tadhg Dowdall, Aaron McGuinness Smith, Ronan Reid, Aaron Heaney, Luke Conlon, Daire Reilly, Fionn Cumiskey, Tadhg Kearney, Sam Phelan, Seamus Reid, Cian Walsh, Ciaran Walsh.
The club’s young U10 team lost to Knockbridge ‘A’ by 6–2 to 3–1 also at the Fairgreen last Thursday evening. The Moninne team was Ethan Walsh, Maeve O’Hora, Luke McCourt, Mark Byrne, Shane McGuinness Smith, Luke Haughey (1–1), Michael O’Shaughnessy (1–0), Tim Litchfield, Aaron Cassidy Rogers, Peter Wykes Begley, Evan Corrigan (1–0).
The club’s U12 team will travel to Darver this Thursday night to take part in the All County Coaching & Games ‘Meet and Greet County Players Night’ Hurling blitz at 7pm.
Senior players Diarmuid Murphy (0–3) and Paul Challoner started for Louth against Derry in the Nicky Rackard Cup at Dowdallshill on Saturday afternoon where the Ulster team had to work hard for a 2–17 to 1–12 victory. Louth now take on Armagh this Saturday April 29th in the Athletic Grounds at 3pm.
The Moninne senior team play Mattock Rangers in the semi final of the Special Championship (Maurice Murphy Cup) next Saturday night at Dundalk Young Irelands at 7pm.
The club, in conjunction with Dundalk Rugby Club, will hold a joint fundraiser on Friday, May 19th when the Crowne Plaza Hotel will be the venue for the ‘Night At The Casino’ at 8.15pm. Tickets are priced at €25 and are available from any committee member.
The club held a very successful flag day in Dundalk last Friday and would like to thank all members, players and parents who helped out collecting on the day.
Club membership for 2017 is still being collected at the following rates — adult player €50, non player €25, student €25, juvenile €15, family €50.
St Brides
