Naomh Mairtin

The Mairtins ran out comfortable 2–18 to 0–8 winners against Dundalk Gaels in round three of the Paddy Sheelan Cup in Monasterboice last Friday night.
The hosts dominated this game from start to finish — scoring 1–9 in both halves — and had eight different scorers in a great team effort. Brian Berrill was on fine form, finishing with 1–4. The Mairtins now qualify for the latter stages of the competition.

Cuchulainn Gaels

U14 Feile

The Cuchulainn Gaels/Cooley U14 team played Clan na Gael in Darver last Wednesday night in the semi-final of the Louth Feile Competition. They won on a scoreline of 9–14 to 4–5.
The Clans were well organised and tough in the tackle, but the peninsula lads played good strong football with the Omeath contingent once again playing an integral part in the win and indeed throughout the competition. Well done Paul Brennan, Colm Keenan, Calum O’Hanlon and Christopher McQuaid, you are all doing Cuchulainn Gaels proud!!The club would also like to welcome Dylan Quinn back to the club.
The final was then held in Darver on Friday night last, with O’Raghallaigh’s providing the opposition. Cuchulainn Gaels/ Cooley started well and after going down to a early point they moved up a gear and pinned the Drogheda side back for most of the first half and went into the the break leading after a goal and a point from Omeath men Dylan Quinn and Calum O’Hanlon.
The second half started off at an even pace for both sides and after 10 minutes it was the O’Raghallaigh’s who turned up the pressure and they ran out Feile A champions for 2017 on a scoreline of 3–11 to 2–3.
Underage training continues this coming Saturday with U8s in action between 11am-12pm and all other ages, U9s to U13s from 2pm-3pm. All newcomers are welcome!

Division Four

The club’s senior team got their Division Four League campaign underway on Sunday morning last away to St Nicholas. It was a hard fought game in beautiful sunshine in Drogheda with the hosts running out 1–10 to 1–7 winners.

Club Membership/Lotto

Club membership is now due for renewal for 2017.The fees are as follows; adult player, €40; juvenile player,€25; adult non player, €30; family options are also available. You can also register online by going to the club’s Facebook page and follow the link.
There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The winning numbers drawn were 11, 13, 17 and 22. The Match Three winners were Seamus McQuaid, Eamon Moley, Noreen Holland and Mary Fagan. This week’s jackpot stands at €20,000.

Gaeltacht Scholarship Competition

A huge congratulations to David McQuaid who is the winner of the Gaeltacht Scholarship Competition! The draw was made at last month’s monthly meeting by committee members Bernard Kilgallon, Caitlin McArdle and Owen Dobbin. Commiserations to the other entrants.

Naomh Moninne

Training for all U5-U12 players continues at DKIT Centre next Saturday from 2pm-3pm. At the same time training for the U14 players will take place at the Fairgreen. At both venues the €2 contribution still applies.
St Fechin’s were unable to field a team in the first round of the U14 Feile last Tuesday night. Moninne will now play the Knockbridge/Pearse Og combination in round two on Tuesday night, April 4th in the Fairgreen at 6.45pm.
On Thursday night, April 6th, the club’s U12 team are fixed to play Pearse Og in the first round of the league at 6.45pm.

Senior team

The senior team suffered a 3–14 to 0–7 defeat to Knockbridge in the Special League in Dowdallshill on Saturday night. The Moninne scorers were Paul Delaney (0–3), Darren O Hanrahan (0–2), Tadhg Moore (0–1) and Padraig Mulholland (0–1).

Table Quiz

The club held a very successful table quiz in McGeough’s, Jocelyn Street last Friday night and would like to thank everyone who attended and made it the success it was. It would also like to acknowledge all those that contributed spot prizes on the night. The winning team comprised of senior players Darren O’Hanrahan and Niall Cafferkey alongside Ciaran Lawless and Colin Roche.

Fundraiser

The club’s next big fundraiser will see them holding a ‘Night At The Casino’ in conjunction with Dundalk Rugby Club in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday, May 19th at 8.15pm. Tickets are €25 are will be available from any committee member.

Membership for 2017 is now due at the following rates — adult player €50, non player €25, student €25, juvenile €15, family €50.

Naomh Malachi

The club are planning a walkway around the pitch at their grounds in Courtbane. This facility will be available for all in the local and wider community to use as part of a healthier, active lifestyle. Should you wish to help out in any way, contact any member of the committee.

U14 team

Commiserations to the U14 players who lost out in the Féile quarter final over the weekend to Glen Emmets. Earlier in the week, the players, including Aaron Gogarty, Shane McMenamin and Andrew Begley claimed a victory over St Mary’s.

Easter Camps/Coaching Camps

Louth GAA Coaching & Games Easter Camps are taking place from April 18th-20th. Contact Micheal or Fra for further details.
Louth GAA Coaching & Games are looking for coaches for the Louth GAA Kellogg’s Cúl Camps which will be taking place at various venues throughout the county this summer. They are looking for both lead coaches (18 years +) and assistant coaches (16/17 year olds). Contact Tracey for more information.
Louth Coaching and Games are running a Young Whistlers aimed at 15/16 year olds with aspirations of becoming referees. The course is open to both hurling and football and will take place in Darver Centre of Excellence on Saturday, April 22nd from 10am-12pm and from 6.30pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 26th. Kilkerley Emmets

The club’s junior side fell to a 7–13 to 4–8 defeat against Geraldines in Haggardstown on Friday night. The Kilkerley team was: Martin Connolly; Pearse Hughes, Dylan Lynch (0–2), Niall Mulholland; Cillian Kampes (0–2), Fintan Clarke, Tadgh Litchfield; Cormac Bellew (0–2), Conal McEneaney (2–0); James Bellew, Connor Kirk, Dean Bourton; Rian Hand, Darren Litchfield, Cillian De Rover (0–2). Underage news

Underage training continues each Saturday from 10.15am-11.30am. Training caters for all girls and boys ages from U7 to U10 and the two girls’ teams U10 and U12. Gum shields are essential. All are welcome. The underage players have a bag pack in Dunnes Ard Easmuinn this Saturday.
The minors play away to the Martins on Wednesday April 26th at 7pm. On Wednesday, April 19th, the U16 team are away to Dreadnots and on Monday, April 24th at 7pm at home to Cooley.
