Knockbridge

Training continues for U18-U12 players this Friday in the Bride’s field at 5.30pm. New members are very welcome to come along on the evening.
The club’s U14 side, together with Pearse Og, played their first game in the Feile competition against the amalgamated Mattock/St Kevins/Glen Emmets team in DkIT last Tuesday night. After a close first half, Knockbridge faded in the second, losing 5–10 to 2–3. With more games and training this team has the potential to vastly improve on that scoreline. Next up is Naomh Moninne in the second round of the competition. It takes place this Tuesday at 6.45pm in the Fairgreen.
Elsewhere, the club’s junior hurlers made it three wins from three games with a comfortable 3–14 to 0–6 victory over Naomh Moninne in the Junior League. The most pleasing aspect was the fact that Knockbridge’s starting 15 contained only four starters from last year’s county final as well as five hurlers from last year’s minor team. This competition for places can only be good as the team tries to atone for last season’s disappointing finish. The final league game takes place against Pearse Og in two weeks time.

St Joseph’s

The St Joseph’s U8 team that played their first game of the season at the weekend

The club’s U8 squad started their season in Cluskey Park at the weekend under their new coaching team of Anthony Keenan and Caitriona McKeown. The team played matches against Hunterstown Rovers and St Bride’s in a well organised and smoothly run blitz.
There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The winning numbers drawn were 11, 18, 20 and 30. The €50 winners were: Paula Murtagh c/o Paul Murtagh; Ronan and Pat Coyne c/o Pat Coyne; Marian O’Sullivan c/o Tony Doherty.

Dundalk Gaels

Action from the Dundalk Gaels underage training at the Ramparts last week

Congratulations to Derek Crilly, James Stewart and Gerard McSorley on the part they played in Louth winning promotion to Division Two. Several of the club’s members, who were on a club outing to Ennis two weekends ago, took in Louth’s game with Tipperary in Thurles.
The club’s juniors league match with Naomh Fionnbarra, due to have been played at the weekend, goes ahead at DkIT this Tuesday evening. Support for the team would be greatly appreciated.
A vote of sympathy was passed at a recent committee meeting with former players, Gerry and Michael McDermott, on the death of their father, Sean.
There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The winning numbers drawn were 6, 7, 12 and 16. The two Match Three winners were K Dunne and Mairead Donegan. This week’s jackpot is €7,000.

St Patrick’s

The St Patrick’s junior side fell to a 6–9 to 1–4 loss against Mattock Rangers in Division Four at the weekend. The Pat’s team that took to the field was: Rory Duffy, Cormac Barry, Daniel Rice, Aidan Ryan, Kevin White, Conor Grogan, Patrick Keenan, Ross Murphy, Thomas McCann, Cathal Grogan, Sean Cummiskey, Colin McCann, Jason Woods, Patrick Kirk, Stephen Toner.

Dowdallshill

There was no winner of last week’s lotto. The winning numbers drawn were 1, 5, 16 and 21. The €25 winners were Caroline and Sabrina c/o Pat Toner, Owen Gribben c/o Seamus Keelan, Conor Keelan c/o Pat Rogers, Siobhán McKeever c/o Aileen McGinn. This week’s jackpot stands at €5,400.
Sympathies are extended to the families and friends of the late Ollie Seery and Andy Califf who both passed away recently. Ollie was a former club committee member, while Andy was a regular on the club’s annual Christmas Morning Run.
