FOOTBALL | Lynn plays 90 minutes as Irish U19 team get off to a flyer in Holland

Shelbourne Ladies star is one of two local players in the squad

Lynn Craven in action for the Republic of Ireland

Dundalk’s Lynn Craven played the full 90 minutes as the Republic of Ireland Women’s U19 team ran out 3–0 winners against Estonia in their first UEFA European Championship qualifying group game in Holland today.

Lynn, who plays for Shelbourne Ladies, started at right-back and looked comfortable throughout as Dave Connell’s side opened their three-game campaign in style.

The result was the ideal start for the Irish U19s, whose preparations weren’t helped by a delayed flight to Holland because of Hurricane Ophelia.

Another local lady, Jade Reddy, was an unused sub for the Girls in Green who face Latvia in their second match on Saturday, October 21st at 11am before finishing up with a game against the hosts next Tuesday.
