Derryman says it’s 50/50 that he’ll remain with Dundalk

Patrick McEleney has yet to decide where he will be playing his football next season, saying that it’s ‘fifty-fifty’ whether he remains at Dundalk.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at Oriel Park but speaking after Sunday’s FAI Cup final, he said he would take some time out to weigh up his options.

“I’m not too sure to be honest,” was his answer when asked if the final was his last appearance in a Dundalk shirt.

“The truth is it’s fifty-fifty and I don’t know what I’m doing.

“I’ll say it again though, I love Dundalk and if I stay here I won’t be going anywhere else and that’s the truth.

“I was just concentrating on the final this week,” he added. “I’ll take a break now for a week or two and weigh everything up but at the minute I’m not going anywhere.”
