Four Dundalk players in the PFAI Team of the Year

Dundalk star Patrick McEleney has been nominated for the PFAI Premier Division Player of the Year award.

The 25-year-old faces competition from Derry City midfielder Aaron McEneff and former Cork City striker Sean Maguire, who is now at Preston.

Former Lilywhite heroes, Daryl Horgan (2016) and Richie Towell (2015) are the previous winners of the award.

Four Dundalk players, McEleney, Sean Gannon, Niclas Vemmelund and David McMillan, have also been named in the PFAI Premier Division Team of the Year.

McEneff is also up for the Young Player of the Year award alongside Trevor Clarke of Shamrock Rovers and Ryan Delaney of Cork City.

The awards take place on Saturday, November 18th at the Marker Hotel in Dublin.
