Dundalk FC duo Sean Hoare and Jamie McGrath have both put pen to paper on new contracts at Oriel Park.
Bothy players, who arrived from St Patrick’s Athletic ahead of the 2017 season, were due to become free agents at the end of the current campaign but Stephen Kenny has moved quickly to tie both of them down.
McGrath has agreed a new one-year deal which will keep him at Oriel Park until the end of the 2019 season while Hoare has penned a two-year contract which will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2020 campaign.
“I am absolutely delighted to get the contract signed early,” said McGrath. “It is good to get it over the line and I have enjoyed my time here at the club.
“I wanted to extend the contract,” he added. “It was something I wanted to do. Times are looking good. I want to keep things going and that is the plan.”
Hoare, who has been a revelation at right-back in recent weeks, also said that it was an ‘easy decision’ to extend his stay at the club.
“It was an easy decision to sign, a no brainer, and I am just glad to get it all sorted. I want to be successful at Dundalk. I wan to win as much as possible. That is why I have extended my contract with the club.”
The news comes just 24 hours after it was confirmed that first-team coach Vinny Perth had agreed a new long-term contract at the club.
