Sean Gannon has ended speculation about his future by signing a new three-year-contract with Dundalk FC.

The 26-year-old had been heavily linked with a move back to his former club Shamrock Rovers but will now enter into his fifth campaign with the Lilywhites after penning a new deal on Thursday evening.

Gannon has been an integral part of Dundalk’s success since joining from St Patrick’s Athletic ahead of the 2014 season, winning three league titles, the FAI Cup, the EA Sports Cup and playing in 20 European matches.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” said Gannon. “It’s great to commit my future to the club. I’ve had great times here and been a part of some great nights and I’m looking forward to many more.”
