DFC | Black and White Friday as Kenny unveils three new players

Hoban, Jarvis and Folan all join the Lilywhites for 2018

Stephen Kenny made the most of Black Friday by unveiling three players at the County Museum.

Former Lilywhites striker Patrick Hoban, ex-Derry City left-back Dean Jarvis and Stephen Folan, the centre-back who played with Galway United last season, were all confirmed as having put pen to paper.

Hoban scored 20 league goals in Dundalk’s 2014 title winning season before leaving for Oxford United at the end of that season.

Indifferent spells at Grimsby Town and Mansfield followed and the 26-year-old is hungry to recapture the form which made him a terrace hero at Oriel Park.

Jarvis, primarily a left-back, joined Derry City from Institute in 2013 and has been a regular in the Candystripes back four ever since.

The 25-year-old is a native of the Brandywell and was part of the youth set-up when Kenny was first-team manager on Foyleside back in 2008.

Folan was one of Galway’s best performers in a difficult season that ended with the Tribesmen being relegated from the top flight.

The 25-year-old was at Newcastle United as a teenager and also had spells at Cork City, Sligo Rovers and Limerick.

Dundalk Sport will have interviews with the three new faces and Stephen Kenny over the weekend.
