DARTS | Curtain comes down on another season of exciting darts

Another great year of action in the Tuborg Dundalk and District Darts League came to an end recently with the various winners picking up their awards.

The 2017/2018 campaign was a very successful one, with 27 teams — consisting of over 200 players — spread across three divisions of nine taking part.

The Premier Division title was won by The Nest while the Premier Cup was won by league newcomers, Jimmy’s. John Donnelly won the Premier Division Cup while Ray Harte and Hugh Martin won the Premier Division Doubles.

The First Division winners were Johnny Mason’s while another new team, Uncle Tom’s took the the cup back to Blackrock. Jimmy Reenan and Gerard McKeown won the Doubles trophy with Stephen Kerley successful in the Singles.

The Division Two winners were the Punters Panthers while Bodhran Blues won the cup at that grade. The Singles was won by Darren Murphy and the Doubles by brothers Paul and Finbar Kelly.

The Andrew McAllister Open Shield was won by the Stag’s Blue while Danny Murphy made his way into the Cathal Mulholland Hall of Fame. Danny Murphy. Danny played in the DDDL for many years and also represented his county and his country with Pride,

There was also a Special Award for Stephen O’Hara who scored the first ever nine- dart finish in the Dundalk and District Darts League.
