CAMOGIE | Louth U14s star at national camogie blitz in Dublin

Wee County beaten in final by Donegal

The Louth U14 squad that took part in the national camogie blitz in Dublin at the weekend

The Saturday of All Ireland Camogie final weekend is also when the national U14 Camogie county blitzes are played in Dublin.

The Louth U14 squad took part in a hotly contested blitz, which was a first experience of inter county action for many of the Wee County’s players.

Louth currently play in Division Five, but based on their performance at the weekend weekend, that could very well be set to change.

Drawn in a tough looking group, Louth were the only county to emerge unbeaten following victories against Down (1–6 to 0–1), Wicklow (4–3 to 1–2) and finally Tyrone (2–8 to 0–1).

The Reds went on to secure a place in the final with a well-earned 3–0 to 1–3 victory over Monaghan.

The final against Donegal but was a much tougher affair with Donegal running out eventual winners on a 4–5 to 3–2 scoreline.

The girls represented the Wee County at the highest level and they did their team, mentors and their county proud. Well done to all involved!
