Dealgan Boxing Club will celebrate 80 years of boxing when it plays host to a dinner show in the Carnbeg Hotel this Saturday night.
There will be a total of 15 bouts on the night with Dealgan boxers set to take on a select team from the Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy in Canada.
The show will also be an opportunity for the club to hold a memorial to their late coach, Jim O’Connor, who passed away in 2017 after 20 years of service with the local club.
With 69 Irish titles to its name, Dealgan ABC is one of the most successful boxing clubs in the country over the past 25 years in particular.
Recent refurbishments have allowed the club to expand their gym facilities and cater for the ever-increasing numbers of children and adults who are taking up the sport.
Everybody at the club would like to express their sincere thanks to all the sponsors and patrons who have made this show possible as well as extending a warm Dundalk welcome to their Canadian friends.
Tickets are still on sale for the night, priced at €10. Tables of 10 are available. Contact any committee member or the club’s for more details.
