Dundalk FC striker David McMillan was left to rue his side’s sloppy defending in the 2–1 defeat to Cork City at Turner’s Cross on Saturday.

The Leesiders condemned the champions to their second loss of the season thanks to Karl Sheppard’s first half brace.

McMillan did haul Dundalk back into the game with a well-taken late finish but the Leesiders held on to open up a six-point advantage at the top of the SSE Airtricity League table.
