ATHLETICS | Some top entries in for this Saturday’s Blackrock AC Four Mile Race

Race held in memory of Stephen Carroll and Captain Mark Duffy

Some of the country’s top runners will take part in Blackrock AC’s Stephen Carroll/Mark Duffy Memorial Four Mile Road Race on Saturday evening, September 23rd.

The likes of Mick Clohisey, Mark Kenneally, Eric Keogh, Paddy Hamilton, Emma Mitchell and Linda Byrne will all take part in the race which gets underway in Blackrock at 6.30pm.

Registration, t-shirt and race number pick up takes place tonight (Friday, September 22nd) from 6:30–8pm in the Blackrock Community Centre and again in The Clermont Arms from 2pm on Saturday.

All proceeds of the event, which has been sponsored by a number of local companies such as CX+ Sport, ABP, Horseware Ireland, Carroll’s Hallmark, The Clermont Arms, McKenna McArdle Solicitors and Daniel O’Connell and Son Solicitors, go to the North Louth Hospice and RNLI Lifeboats.

The race will be held in memory of Blackrock men Stephen Carroll, who passed away in 2013 from cancer, and Captain Mark Duffy, who was a member of the Rescue 116 coastguard team that died during a rescue mission earlier this year.
