Another North Louth Winter League title for Greenfield
Local side have lost just five games in the last four years
The Greenfield juggernaut continues to roll through the North Louth Winter League at pace.
Going into the final round of fixtures last week, the odds were stacked against the Dundalk side of winning the title but results elsewhere went their way, securing Greenfield a fourth successive league trophy.
Greenfield’s league form — home and away — has been formidable, with the team losing just five games in this four-year period, an astonishing feat for any team.
This latest triumph follows on from their perfect season in 2016 when they remained unbeaten all year and captured the treble, a first in the history of the North Louth Winter League’s history.
Their slick passing style and possession football have helped them to slice their way through all opposition but they have been pushed all the way over the last two seasons by an unlucky Carlingford side whose time will surely come.
However, the present very much belongs to Greenfield and a place in the North Louth Winter League history books and folklore awaits.
This Greenfield team is a credit to the North Louth Winter League who would like to congratulate them on their continued success.
